Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that overnight, a large number of Russian drones entered Polish airspace. Polish air defenses and NATO aircraft intercepted the drones during a major attack on western Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that Poland was deliberately targeted, while Warsaw condemned the incident as an “act of aggression.” NATO, however, is not currently treating the incursion as an attack on a member state.

Reports indicated that a residential building in Wyryki, eastern Poland, was hit, but no casualties or injuries were reported. Airports in Warsaw, Modlin, and Rzeszow have reopened following the incident, while Lublin Airport remains temporarily closed.

The Polish government remains in close contact with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte and continues to assess the situation.
