Minister Fidan: Turkey is the only country that has cut all trade with Israel
In a special session of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) dedicated to Gaza, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan clearly expressed Turkey’s stance on Israel’s attacks. Fidan stressed that Israel has been committing crimes against humanity in Gaza for more than two years, stating: “Any plan that foresees the forced displacement of the Palestinian people is null and void for us.”
“We are the only country that has completely cut trade with Israel”
Fidan also listed the concrete steps Turkey has taken. He recalled that all trade relations with Israel have been severed, Israeli ships are barred from entering Turkish ports, and Turkish ships are not allowed to dock at Israeli ports. In addition, he emphasized that Turkish ports and airspace have been closed to ships and planes carrying weapons and ammunition. “Turkey is the only country that has fully terminated its trade with Israel,” he underlined.
“The resistance in Gaza marks the beginning of a new era”
Addressing the Palestinian resistance, Fidan noted that the struggle in Gaza represents a turning point in history: “This resistance will become a symbol for the oppressed and will shake the foundations of a decayed order.”
“Israel’s aggression sets the whole region on fire”
Fidan warned that Israel’s attacks threaten not only Palestinians but the entire region. “The atrocities committed in Gaza have gone down as one of the darkest chapters in human history. If this aggression is not stopped, it will drag the whole region into chaos,” he said.
Reference to Syria
Fidan also drew attention to Israel’s stance in Syria, saying: “By provoking sensitive areas in Syria, Israel is clearly showing that it does not want a stable and territorially intact Syria. We will not allow the Syrian people to be sacrificed to these distorted objectives.”
Minister Fidan concluded by stressing that Turkey will continue to act together with countries that share a similar perspective.
