During the NATO Summit held in The Hague, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The leaders discussed regional security issues, NATO cooperation, and strategic partnership matters.
According to diplomatic sources, Erdoğan and Merz exchanged views on strengthening solidarity among alliance members and advancing joint defense projects. The agenda also included energy security, regional crises, and NATO’s future role.
Presidential officials stated that the meeting was held in a constructive atmosphere and highlighted its significance for both bilateral relations and enhancing coordination within NATO.
This meeting is considered part of the intensive diplomatic engagements during the NATO Summit and is expected to open new opportunities for defense and security cooperation between Turkey and Germany in the coming period.
