Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian announced a new phase in his country’s foreign policy after holding talks with the leaders of Russia, China, and Turkey in Beijing. “We have made strategic and vital decisions. From now on, we will act together against unilateral policies,” Pezeshkian said.During a major military parade in Beijing, Pezeshkian appeared alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. While 80,000 white doves were released into the sky, China showcased its latest ballistic missiles and combat drones.Pezeshkian repeated his criticism of the UN nuclear agency, accusing the West of applying double standards. “If Israel behaves so aggressively today, it is because of the technologies and support provided by the United States and its allies,” he declared. The Iranian president also reaffirmed his country’s willingness to adhere to the nuclear deal but stressed that the West had failed to honor its commitments. “The same countries that broke the agreement are now blaming us. This is unacceptable,” he said.Pezehskian recalled that recent US-Iran talks had been interrupted by Israeli strikes on Iranian targets but insisted that the path for dialogue remained open.Iran’s top security official, Ali Larijani, echoed this view: “Negotiation is not closed, but the US is blocking the talks by putting unrealistic conditions on the table.”The Beijing summit was widely seen as a joint message from China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea against the US-led international order and is being closely watched in the West.
